Alsephina — Sirius 40DS Polish & Gelcoat Repairs, Portland

Sirius 40DS "Alsephina" came to us at Portland with oxidised topsides, swirl marks and a gelcoat chip on the bow that needed putting right before the season ahead.

We started with the gelcoat repair: the chip was ground out, filled, faired and colour-matched so it blends invisibly into the surrounding green gelcoat. The hull was then machine-polished in stages — working carefully around the name decal — to cut back the oxidation and swirl marks and bring back a deep, even gloss.

The result is a hull that looks freshly finished from bow to stern, with the repair invisible against the original colour. Polishing and gelcoat repair like this is one of the most cost-effective ways to transform a tired boat in Weymouth or Portland.
